Added some Norah Lofts books to the wishlist, with thanks to Tanzanite's Book Covers:
The Town House (Suffolk House Trilogy, Book 1)
The House At Old Vine (Suffolk House Trilogy, Book2)
The House At Sunset (Suffolk House Trilogy, Book 3)
I also happened upon the cutest little used bookstore near my home when my husband and I took the daughter and her friend bowling. I'm not quite sure of the name though, Humpus Bumpus Bookstore, but it's owned by a really sweet elderly lady. All that was missing was the cat and it was the bookstore I've always dreamed of owning! Right when I walked in I spotted a book that's been on my wishlist forever, The Secret Wife of George IV by Diane Haeger, so I snagged that little baby right off the shelf! I was also able to grab Mary Queen of Scots by Antonia Fraser and Wild Irish by Robin Maxwell before I was summoned to the bowling alley!
Have a great week everyone!
Those looks great :D
ReplyDeleteYou seem to have chosen some great books there, I think I'll keep a note of them for myself.
ReplyDeleteThese look like some great books! Humpus Bumpus...hmmmm.
ReplyDeleteAnd did you happen to notice that Here Was A Man and The House At Old Vine are the same model and virtually the same pose (only reversed)? Also, A Rose For Virtue appears to be a close up shot of the same dress used on The House at Sunset. Guess they figured they would get their money's worth!
ReplyDeleteDaphne...Ha, no I hadn't noticed that, but too funny! I guess everyone is cutting back on expenses...like headless women =)
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love finds like that... we have a very quaint second-hand book store in our area that has been around since hmmm forever & I could spend all day in it!
ReplyDeleteI really like the covers of these. The House trilogy covers are much nicer than the tatty ones I have somewhere in my tbr piles!
ReplyDeleteI love Norah Lofts! Reading her books made me a life long historical fiction addict.
