Hi and welcome to Passages to the Past: The Place to be for Historical Fiction!
ABOUT ME
First, a little about me…. My name is Amy and I live in a suburb of Atlanta, GA with my wonderful husband, beautiful and talented teenage daughter and 6 crazy animals. I’ve been a reader since a very early age and can’t remember a time that I’ve not had a book in my hand. The one quote that could describe my obsession is from Erasmus: “When I get a little money I buy books; and if any is left I buy food and clothes”, which can be proven by a simple glance at my bare closet and over-flowing, double-stacked bookshelves.
I came to love the historical fiction genre after picking up The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory and shortly after that Mary, Queen of Scots and the Isles by Margaret George and I haven’t looked back since! Once I found the genre I began searching the internet in earnest to find more HF book recommendations and soon found myself immersed in the world of book blogs. After lurking for a while I then decided to try my hand at a book review blog of my own….and VOILA Passages to the Past was born!
As of June 2011 Passages to the Past is three years old and almost 900 followers strong! A huge thanks to all of my fabulous followers and blogging friends I have met along the way.
More recently, I began a virtual tour company that caters specifically to authors of historical fiction called Historical Fiction Virtual Book Tours. I have worked on tours with authors Jules Watson, Sandra Worth, Anne Easter Smith and C.W. Gortner.

REVIEW POLICY
To authors and publicists…
As of 8/16/11: I will be fiercely limiting the number of review copies I accept. This is due to the fact that I recently started my own virtual tour company (HF Virtual Book Tours) and also because I would really like to get to reading books already in my TBR pile, which is threatening to tumble and bury me! Please continue to reach out with pitches, but don't take it personal if I don't respond. Thank you for your understanding!
Review requests and tour pitches are more than welcome! I receive a good amount of requests and can’t respond to them all, though I do try. If I am unable to respond to you, please don’t take it personally and know that you can always reach out again for future pitches.
You can reach me at passagestothepast (at) gmail (dot) com
Unsolicited review copies…
I don’t mind receiving unsolicited review copies, but please know that since I did not agree to review the book then it will be at my discretion whether I do so or not. If it is a title that I am not interested in I will either host a giveaway or donate to my local library. It is always best to reach out first before sending!
Virtual book tours…
I love participating in tours so feel free to pitch away! I am always up for hosting guest posts, interviews and giveaways.
Lead time/post date…
I generally like to receive the review copy at least three to four weeks in advance so I have time to read it and compose any interview questions.
If you need the review posted on a particular date please let me know and we can schedule that, otherwise it will be posted at my convenience.

I do not own an e-reader so at this time I am only accepting ARCs, galleys or finished copies.
