new Jean Plaidy re-issue in 2011

Thanks to Daphne from Tanzanite's Shelf & Stuff for posting this the other day! I've been waiting to see what the next re-issue will be!  I'm glad to hear that it's one from her Stuart Saga series.

Release Date: March 1, 2011.

Royal Sisters is the new title for The Haunted Sisters and it's about the daughters of James II.  I gotta say though that I am not a huge fan of the cover!

SYNOPSIS: Betrayed by his friends and forsaken by the daughters he so loved, James II mad a perilous escape to France. Mary could not forgive him for the death of gallant Monmouth. All her love now centred on William, her husband, and the new King of England. Anne disliked Mary, hated William and coveted the Crown. Her ambitions were encouraged by the audacious Sarah Churchill who sought power as her soldier husband sought glory. The memory of the 'King Across The Water' was to haunt them all . . .

  1. I have read a few by Plaidy and have always been impressed, so I will be looking for it. Thanks!

  2. I agree with you about the cover - it is not very evocative and the costume is the wrong period! I do like Plaidy though and am sure (although I don't know) that it is a good read.

    thanks for sharing

  3. Thanks for the mention! I think the cover is awful - what were they thinking??!

  4. Thanks for posting about this upcoming release. I look forward to reading it. Yep, the cover looks like they cut out the heads to protect the innocent. LOL

  5. Ugh, these new covers. What's up with the Tudor dress? It's late 17th century for God's sake! And the title. I guess they must insert either 'crown', 'royal', 'king' or 'queen' to make the marketing people happy. The Haunted Sisters works for me... not at all a fan of Plaidy's titles being changed as they had their meanings...
