Suddenly Sunday

Suddenly Sunday is hosted by the wonderful Svea at Confessions and Rambling of A Muse in the Fog.

Good Sunday morning dear readers!  And how are you on this fine day?  I'll be busy today recuperating and cleaning up from my daughter's 14th birthday part yesterday.  We had a pool party / BBQ, played cornhole and they jammed out on Wii's Guitar Hero - it was a blast!  Here's my birthday girl Bella and the cool cupcakes she made:

I'd like to send a shout out to all the dads of the world, in particular my husband Michael who is the best father (and husband) EVER....HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!!  I could've searched this whole world over and never found a man so amazing as him!  Love you babe!  This is my favorite picture of my two favorite people:

IN READING NEWS  I'm halfway through The Dark Rose (Book Two of The Morland Dynasty) by Cynthia Harrod Eagles.  It's a decent read, but I'm not loving it the way I did Book One, The Founding.  I'll still be reading the rest of the series though I hope this one is the anomaly.

The June event for the Historical Fiction Bloggers Round Table will be focused on the new novel by Catherine Delors, FOR THE KING, a novel set in post-Revolutionary France.  The event dates are June 21-28 and we will be bringing to you reviews, guest posts by Catherine Delors, as well as an interview with Catherine and 8 chances to win your very own copy!   Hope to see you there!

BOOK BLOGGER APPRECIATION WEEK is fast approaching and I will be registering PTTP in the Historical Fiction genre.  I didn't win last year, so maybe 2010 will be my year?! BBAW takes place from September 13-17.  Here is the site if you'd like to register as well.

I have a GIVEAWAY WINNER to announce.  The winner of the M.J. Rose Limited Edition Handmade Silver Phoenix Pin is.....LIBBY from LIBBY'S LIBRARY NEWS!!!!  Congratulations Libby and be on the lookout for an email from me shortly!  I actually received the complimentary pin they sent me yesterday and it's a lot prettier in person!  The picture doesn't really do it justice.  Thanks to all who entered and to M.J. Rose for providing such a cool giveaway!

There are still TWO GIVEAWAYS going on here at PTTP, so make sure to enter:

~ Reader Appreciation Giveaway:  Win a $25 Amazon Gift Card

~ CSN Stores Giveaway:  Win a $100 Gift Card

I've got some exciting giveaways and author interviews coming up in the next few months that I am really looking forward to and they are:

~  His Last Letter by Jeanne Westin

~  The Jewel of St. Petersburg by Kate Furnivall
~  Dracula in Love by Karen Essex
~  The Secret Eleanor by Cecelia Holland

I think that about sums up everything!  I hope you all have a fabulous Sunday and a great week!

  1. Happy Birthday to your daughter - she is just lovely!
I adore the bright green icing!
Happy Father's Day to your hubby. That is a great photo.

I am not loving The Dark Rose either. The characters are all rather hateful and I can't believe this characterization of Anne Boleyn.

I am looking forward to the next roundtable!

  3. Good Luck this year on the Book Blogger App. Week! Is there a way for us to vote for our favorite book blog or do "they" make the decision?

  5. Happy Birthday Bella! Tasty looking cupcakes :) yummy!

Loved the pictures of all your sweeties.

NOT loving the Dark Rose either, and am contemplating not finishing. I'm half through so I'm sure I'll persevere, but I'm quite bored.

As for BBAW, not sure if I will register. I feel kind of cheesy doing it, but can totally understand why they are doing it this way. I'll have to think on it. You got my vote chicklet!

  6. I hope you and your family had a great Father's
Day. Birthday parties are so much fun. I miss having young ones around the house for them. Maybe on our 65th we'll have a big celebration.
You have a good line up for the rest of the month.
