Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
✸ Grab your current read
✸ Open to a random page
✸ Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
✸ BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS!
✸ Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Today's Teaser Tuesday comes from The Miracles of Prato by Laurie Albanese and Laura Morowitz. I'm about 115 pages in and finding it a good read, though not a page turner quite yet, but I'm hopeful given all the good reviews.
My excerpt is from page 84 and I'm going to cheat and include more than 2 sentences just because I'm a rebel and that's how I roll :)
"Fra Filippo had known the embrace of more than a few women: Magdalena di Rosetta Ciopri had taken him as a lover in the hills outside of Padua, and a wool merchant's wife in Florence had invited him into her bed many times. These women, and others whom he'd paid, had given the painter great pleasure. But they hadn't changed the very colors of the world to him, they hadn't turned even simple tasks into moments of heady satisfaction. Only Lucrezia had done this, and her power over him was evident in the confidence that guided his hand."
Love those last two lines!
