Suddenly Sunday

Suddenly Sunday is hosted by the wonderful Svea at Confessions and Rambling of A Muse in the Fog.

Bonjour mes amis!  I hope you all had a great week!  It was a long one for me so I am thrilled to be chillin' at home, watching movies and reading.

Speaking of reading...in READING NEWS, I finished up The Miracles of Prato this week and found it a good read.  I am a part of the book tour and my review will be posted on the 24th.  I also started Great Maria by Cecelia Holland.  I was supposed to read this a few weeks ago, but I had issues with the digital ebook they sent me so I had to wait to get the physical book.  I'm about 100 pages in and having a really hard time getting into it.  The writing doesn't flow very well and I don't care for any of the characters, especially the heroine.  I'm hoping it gets more bearable soon.

WEEK IN REVIEW  It was awfully busy around here this week, so just in case you missed anything, here is a run down.  We started off with my fave meme of the week, Mailbox Monday, then the giveaway and Vampire tweet-up event for Dracula, My Love by Syrie James was announced, a new So, You Wanna Read about... was posted on King Charles II of England, the Teaser Tuesday this week was from The Miracles of Prato, Gillian Bagwell, author of the future book on Nell Gwyn, Charles II's mistress, called The Darling Strumpet wrote a magnificent guest post to commemorate the 350th anniversary of the Restoration of the English Monarchy, I posted about a new non-fiction book on Elizabeth I and Shakespeare that made me go hmmmm..., for Wordless Wednesday we visited the breathtakingly beautiful Italian Riviera, on Thursday I posted my review of Georgette Heyer's Regency World by Jennifer Kloester, Friday brought the giveaway for The Russian Concubine by Kate Furnivall and yesterday I posted the covers for the future releases from C.W. Gortner and Anne Easter Smith.

There are currently a whopping 8 GIVEAWAYS going on at PTTP and here they are along with the end date and # of entries (so far) for each:

  1. That was exactly how I felt about Great Maria. I ended up liking her a little more by the end, but it was difficult to get into. Best of luck - glad you got the issue squared away.
