As part of the C.W. Gortner event for HFBRT I have put together a portrait slideshow of Catherine de Medici and her family. Being an ascetic person myself and always referencing pictures of the people I am reading about I thought give you a glimpse of Catherine and the people in her life.

ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful to see them as they were in life; one of the advantages of the era was a new trend toward realism in art, with the individual taking center stage. And you found a few portraits I'd not seen! Great post, thank you!

ReplyDeleteFreaking cool I love the one of young Catherine, she was pretty. I hate to say this but Diane was pretty too but to hell with her, cougar.

ReplyDeleteCatherine was pretty when she was young but unfortunately, Diane de Portiers (excuse sp) was a hottie! Poor Catherine!
