Richard Downing may be a viscount of impeccable character, but he's bored beyond belief of dancing at balls, faking smiles, and making dull conversation. So when he stumbles upon a house maid with defiance in her striking blue eyes and a dagger hidden in her skirts...well, color him intrigued.

Raised with a rather...peculiar upbringing, Lady Victoria Daring is full of secrets and surprises. As part of His Majesty's personal homeland spy network and as a master of disguises, Vic is charged with infiltrating high society to uncover the enemies hiding in plain sight.

But Richard is the first man to see through her disguises--and infiltrate deep into her heart. Too bad his family is at the top of her list of suspects...

Lovely, charming, and exciting...A Lady Never Tells absolutely blew me away!

I started this bewtiching novel one day while waiting for my boys at the bus stop and was instantly hooked! It's such a unique premise - set in early 1800s, Victoria, is the daughter of a respected British diplomat who was assigned to work in China. All of the Darling children (there are 6) have been raised there and taught special skills - from languages to fighting to espionage and disguise.

When her father is called home to London they are tasked with spying for the Crown. Enter Richard Downing, a Viscount who is bored with life and one night when he runs into Vic while in disguise for her first mission he is enamored with her and tries to find out who she really is. I absolutely loved Richard and Victoria! They played off each other so well and the romance was very believable.

I've always loved reading about big families so that was another plus for me. The Darling kids were a lot of fun!

I could not have loved this book more and cannot wait for the next book in the series! I'll also be checking out Lynn's previous books - she is a phenomenal writer!

You should definitely pick up A Lady Never Tells! It was one of the best historical romances I've ever read. Witty and delightful and an absolute kicker of a book!
