The Eagle and The Raven
by Pauline Gedge

SYNOPSIS

Spanning three generations, this historical novel tells the tale of Boudicca, the most famous warrior of ancient Britain, and Caradoc, the son of a Celtic king, who sets out to unite the people of the Raven and lead them against Rome. Caradoc's objective is not easily accomplished as the Roman army advances into Britain, raping Celtic women and burning villages to the ground. His efforts are also met with fierce opposition from Aricia, the vain queen of a northern tribe who swears allegiance to the Romans after Caradoc slights her, and from Gladys, Caradoc’s warrior sister who falls in love with her Roman captor. Unfortunately, Caradoc’s endeavors are left unresolved when he is taken prisoner, but Boudicca, a strong-willed woman, ultimately takes up the cause that was Caradoc’s legacy.

The Lost Summer of Louisa May Alcott
by Kelly O. McNees

Paperback Release Date:  May 3, 2011

SYNOPSIS

A richly imagined, remarkably written story of the woman who created Little Women- and how love changed her in ways she never expected.

Deftly mixing fact and fiction, Kelly O'Connor McNees returns to the summer of 1855, when vivacious Louisa May Alcott is twenty-two and bursting to free herself from family and societal constraints and do what she loves most. Stuck in small-town New Hampshire, she meets Joseph Singer, and as she opens her heart, Louisa finds herself torn between a love that takes her by surprise and her dream of independence as a writer in Boston. The choice she must make comes with a steep price that she will pay for the rest of her life.

In a Treacherous Court
by Michelle Deiner

Release Date:  August 2, 2011

SYNOPSIS

Michelle Diener makes her literary debut with a richly drawn and beautifully written novel that will delight fans of Philippa Gregory and Anne Easter Smith. Based on historical events and figures from King Henry VIII’s reign, IN A TREACHEROUS COURT features a lethal and steadfast courtier and a royally commissioned artist who uncover secrets that could mean the end of the King’s rule.

John Parker is one of Henry VIII’s most useful courtiers–utterly merciless and completely loyal. But one small favor for his King pulls Parker into a deadly plot against the throne: one that will test his courage, his resolve, and most especially, his heart.

A commission from Henry VIII should have been the crowning achievement of Susanna Horenbout’s career, but before she even sets foot in England, the talented artist finds herself in possession of a secret that could change the country’s history. With Parker as her only protection against killers who will stop at nothing to silence her, Susanna has to trust the dangerous, enigmatic courtier. She’s used to fighting in a man’s world, but she never expected to be fighting for her life–or her heart.

Told with breathtaking historical detail, IN A TREACHEROUS COURT offers a masterful blend of intrigue, romance, and scandal.
