2 Copy Giveaway: Rivals in the Tudor Court by D.L. Bogdan

Hello dear readers!  I've got another great giveaway to announce...

I have two copies of D.L. Bogdan's latest novel, Rivals in the Tudor Court, up for grabs, courtesy of the generous author herself!

I'm excited to host this giveaway as I recently read Rivals and can highly recommend it!  I had to stay up late last night to finish it because I just couldn't put it down!

ABOUT THE BOOK

SYNOPSIS

The death toll in Henry VIII's England can be counted in the thousands. No one was more aware of this than Thomas Howard, third duke of Norfolk. Relying on his indomitable force of will, cleverness, and sheer good fortune, Thomas Howard manages to be one of the king's only intimates to survive an unforgettable reign of terror. This impeccably researched companion piece to "Secrets of the Tudor Court" chronicles the ambitious duke's life, loves, and remarkable capacity to endure. Before he was the king's uncle, before he was his nieces' ultimate betrayer, Thomas Howard was a hostage at the court of Henry VII while his father was imprisoned in the dreaded Tower of London. There he would marry the queen's sister, his forever princess Anne Plantagenet. While he founded a dynasty, his career as soldier and sailor brought him acclaim and the trust of the Tudors. But when unspeakable tragedy robs him of family and fortune, Thomas must begin again. Abandoning notions of love, Thomas seeks out an advantageous match with the fiery Elizabeth Stafford, daughter of the duke of Buckingham. Clever, willful, and uncompromising in principle, the young duchess falls victim to a love she cannot deny. When Thomas takes on a mistress, the vulnerable Bess Holland, Duchess Elizabeth prepares to fight for all she holds dear. Only then does she learn she faces a force darker than anything she could ever have imagined, an obsessive love that neither she nor Bess can rival.

  1. I love the era of the Tudors. The clothes, furniture, people all of it. Other than the Showtime series of the Tudors I have only read Betrice Small and Elizabeth Chadwicks stories about them. I can't wait to read these.

  10. I absolutely love the time of the Tudors as it totally changed so many things in history such as religious beliefs and how the people of that time period were treated by their rulers. So much politics and intrigue at court makes this time spellbinding. Wish many schools could make it a rule that many of these novels depicting this era be required reading.

Thomas Howard was such a fascinating and complicated man and played such a large role in Henry VIII's court. Two of Henry's queens were related to him. I shared on facebook and am a long time follower of this blog.

  54. Having always been a fan of historical fiction it was easy to fall in love with the tudors. Henry VIII was such a larger than life charactor and his court was populated with people just like him that I was hooked almost immediately; and set out to see if the all the hype and drama could possibly be true--and it was! I really enjoy a well researched, well written and compelling novel. I'd love to win this book and add it to my collection of 'Tudor England' novels and History (factual) books.
