Every year for Christmas one of the gifts from my mother is something handmade from another part of the world; last year was a beautiful hand-beaded coin purse that was made in Africa by local tribal women. These are the gifts that I treasure the most because they are vastly superior than anything you can find at any store and the connection you feel with the artist that lovingly brought it to life from thousands of miles away is so special. So, when I was offered the opportunity to work with the nice people at Novica, I jumped right on it!
This was the first I had heard of Novica and so I was pleasantly blown away when I went to their site for the first time. Now, unlike previous product review offers I've received, this time I decided it was time to splurge on myself, however I love shopping for other people too much and ended up getting a few Christmas presents for people I love in my life. And let me also tell you that choosing what I wanted to order was no easy feat...there are so many awesome and beautiful items on Novica that it took me forever to decide! But it was fun trying, that's for sure! From jewelry, rugs, home décor, furniture, clothes and paintings there’s something for everyone!! Novica teams up with artisans from around the world to give them a platform on which to sell their products universally – giving the native artists the power to earn a living and consumers a place to find unique and amazing gifts. What I enjoyed the most about shopping on Novica was how they give you a picture and short bio of the artist. The Novica site itself is easy to navigate and use and I was shocked that my items arrived so quickly! I ordered an amethyst “owl-wisdom” ring, a Pearl and labradorite beaded bracelet, 'Ode to Friendship', and Sterling silver dangle earrings, 'Always and Forever'. All items were lovingly packaged in a pretty box with a printed bio on the artist and were gorgeously handcrafted.
I am so super glad that I now know about Novica – this is my new go-to place for gifts and maybe I’ll splurge on myself one day!

ReplyDeleteI love Novica! You're in for such a treat -- it's really quite moving to see the artisans and hear them talk about their craft as you browse. My mother usually buys Novica gifts for my wife and I -- even the packaging is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful site. On just 3 pages of their jewelry listings, I found MANY items I would like to order. They have just exactly the styles I like. I have found at least one artist whose work I love. Every piece of hers I saw I loved. I will be going back to this site again and ordering.
