Grab your current read
Open to a random page
Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS!
Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

From page 2...

"Eleanor moved through the crowd like a swan over a lake, looking neither left nor right, while the courtiers surged around her, bend and bobbed and jostled each other and waved their hands and spoke her name, begging for a glance.  Her name sounded constantly.  Among this homage she walked as if she were utterly alone, her attention fixed on the throne, and the while crowd turned after her as if she held their eyes on leading strings."

  1. "Arming themselves as they went with sticks, fashioning bamboo lances hastily as they walked, they marched directly to Nakayama Pass, not even pausing to rest on the way. They reached it just before noon, only to find that they were too late.

  2. Lovely writing and I just love Eleanor anyway.
At least I assume it was her.

  3. Sorry, I'm a little late visiting this...

Great teaser though! I can totally visualize Eleanor walking through the crowd unfazed.

Here is our teaser for this week.
