Another Monday, Another Mailbox!! This is a feature where we all share with each other the yummy books that showed up at our doors! WARNING: Mailbox Mondays can lead to extreme envy and GINORMOUS wishlists!!
Mailbox Monday is hosted by Marcia at The Printed Page.
Woo! Have I got a mailbox to share with you! My week started off with a package from Amazon with a book that's been on my wishlist for a loooong time. And yesterday my daughter and I went to a library book sale where I found some really great books and then continued my lucky streak at a local used bookstore.
From Amazon:
Love and Louis XIV: The Women in the Life of the Sun King by Antonia Fraser
From the library book sale:
A Crown for Elizabeth by Mary M. Luke
The Medieval Castle by Philip Warner
Nicholas and Alexandra by Robert K. Massie
Lucrecia's Dreams: Politics and Prophecy in Sixteenth-Century Spain by Richard L. Kagan
Life Mask by Emma Donoghue
From the used bookstore:
Stuart England (The Penguin History of England) by J.P. Kenyon
The Lives of the Kings and Queens of England edited by Antonia FraserMary Queen of Scots by N. Brysson Morrison
The Queen's Slave Trader: John Hawkyns, Elizabeth I, and the Trafficking in Human Souls by Nick HazelwoodThe Masque of the Black Tulip (Book Two, Pink Carnation series) by Lauren Willig
Cromwell: The Lord Protector by Antonia Fraser
Her Little Majesty: The Life of Queen Victoria by Carolly Erickson
Lucrezia Borgia: Life, Love, and Death in Renaissance Italy by Sarah Bradford
Louis XIV by Anthony Levi
So, what goodies came your way?
Lots of good stuff there!! I have had a copy of Love and Louis XIV on my shelf for the longest time, and often stop to pick it up and scan through the pages when I walk past. It looks like a great book and I hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a awesome haul of historical fiction! Great finds!
ReplyDeleteYou got some wonderful books.
ReplyDeleteThis past week, in the mail I got:
THE MOON LOOKED DOWN by Dorothy Garlock
THE CRAZY SCHOOL by Cornelia Read
TRIUMPH IN ARMS by Jennifer Blake
BETWEEN FRIENDS by Kristy Kiernan
I have actually been avoiding book stores, etc. I keep looking at all the books I need to find room for and need to get those organized first. However, I know I'll still keep getting them. There are so many good ones out there.
Thats wonderful stuff you have collected. That library sale is something.
ReplyDeleteLibrary sales are always fun! I havent heard of those books, but I'm looking forward to your review of The Masque of the Black Tulip. I did hear good things about the Pink Carnation series.
